8h Course: Autonomic Regulation Technique
The autonomic nervous system (ANS) is a division of the peripheral nervous system that acts largely unconsciously and regulates major bodily functions such as the heart rate, digestion, respiratory rate, pupillary response, urination, and sexual arousal. Additionally, the ANS has a direct role in physical and emotional responses to stress.
It is well known that chronic stressful situations (real or perceived) can result in a long-term drain on the body. As the autonomic nervous system continues to trigger physical reactions, all bodily systems may be affected, increasing the risk for serious and sometimes fatal conditions.
Autonomic Regulation Technique (AR-T) combines evidence-based integrative approaches to ANS Regulation and stress management.
The technique was developed by Dr. Francisco Cidral and Dr. Afonso Salgado who are experienced clinicians and researchers in the field of Integrative Practices and Integrative Physical Therapy.
In this course Dr. Francisco Cidral and Dr. Afonso Salgado will give an overview of AR-T and some of its basic protocols for autonomic regulation.
